This is a piece from the series ‘Smoking in the Garden,’ which explores the folklore found in Kim’s mother's stories, emphasizing how oral narratives have the potential to transform and heal trauma. The drawings in this series serve as a way to evoke the complex ancestral power that both constrains and heals. The abstract imagery is designed to imbue the characters within the narrative with a unique aura.
