Helping Objects Tell Their Story: Mikey Mosher's Studio Spotlight
Merging roles as a designer, builder, and arranger, Mikey Mosher crafts narratives that explore the interplay of meaning and spirituality in everyday items. His work exposes the tangles of religion, capitalism, and systems of power while tendering cathartic avenues for play and physicality.
From his studio in the West Loop of Chicago, Mikey invites us to listen to the silent conversations between objects. Beginning with a focus on collage, his practice has expanded out into a variety of mediums including photography, sculpture, projection, design, and digital fabrication.
I’m really interested in helping objects tell their story, and putting them in a position to point to something that’s always there, if you take the time to look for it.
